NMPA becomes the applicant for PIC/S

In late September 2023, the National Medical Products Administration(NMPA) submitted formal application to the Pharmaceutical Inspection Co-operation Scheme (PIC/S). On Nov 8, 2023, PIC/S sent a letter to NMPA confirming the applicant status. 

Following this confirmation, NMPA will strengthen communication and cooperation with the PIC/S, promote itself to become a full member of PIC/S, and take this opportunity to continuously improve the country’s drug inspection system and standards, to constantly enhance its drug inspection quality management system and to steadily promote the development of its inspectors' team, so as to modernize the national drug regulation in China.

2023年9月下旬，国家药监局向药品检查合作计划（PIC/S）提交了正式申请材料。2023年11月8日，PIC/S致函国家药监局，确认国家药监局正式申请者身份。后续，国家药监局将加强与PIC/S的沟通与合作，积极推进我国早日成为PIC/S正式成员，并以此为契机，持续完善我国药品检查制度和标准，不断健全药品检查质量管理体系，稳步推进检查员队伍建设，提升我国药品监管现代化水平。
